| Customer Reviews:
Five seasons on and it's as great as ever. December 18, 2008 I remember watching the very first episode hoping, to be blunt, for some gratuitous lesbian action. I stayed and bought every box set because of: great scripts, terrific actors, wonderful characters, terrific dialogue, unpredictability, marvellous wit, a (mostly) drop-dead gorgeous cast, and the fact that it was simply the best ongoing series on American tv since Buffy (though if I had to choose between the L Word and Battlestar Galactica my brain would probably freeze).
This season is no different from the rest but, like another reviewer, I'm not going to spoil it for you, though you may like to read the incredibly funny recaps on the afterellen website after you've seen the shows.
My only grumble is lack of subtitles and the pathetic shortage of decent extras. Episodes of other Showtime series aren't much of an enhancement.
If you haven't seen this before, get the first season and catch up. It's great. And if you have watched the other four seasons, why are you wasting time reading this? Get it now!

I was so excited about L5, it finally arrived and i binged watched it in 2 nights, this review has NO SPOILERS, but i will say the focus of the whole season centred around the movie of jenny's book Lez Girls, i found this disappointing, i was also totally disappointed with the "finale" which seemed so much like a regular episode that i actually rewatched then checked the episode listings to clarify, and despite the lack of a proper ending it was the finale. I love the L word and this is a must for every fan, but don't expect a sizzling series, i was left a bit miffed. and can only hope season 6 picks up in pace so this great programme goes out with a bang.
