A bit of a let down July 26, 2006 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I was expecting some good things from this series after reading the reviews, and I have a pretty broad interest level when it comes to TV drama. However after getting totally hooked on West Wing and feeling empty when I had traweld through the many eposodes I looked for something else and was recommended this.
I have just got to the end of the first series, and apart from an aeroplane crashing, the story hasnt really develpoed much from there.Big egos in the story line spoil tend to make the whole thing predictable and dull. Each episode had a vague story, but it was so engulfed in endless dialogue and flashbacks that I eventually lost patience.
There is too much other stuff to watch, to keep trying to get into this. Watch a couple of episodes and youre either know what Im saying or youre totally love it.
Lose yourself in Lost May 3, 2006 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Great series! Picked it up after I got fed up of everyone 'going on' about it and wasn't disappointed! Its addictive and at home we have numerous arguments about 'whats really going on'. Some great suprises, intriguing characters and stunning, tropical scenery. Its pretty fast paced and has you second guessing as to what comes next. Buy it.
Friends turned Lord of the Flies February 16, 2006 A very enjoyable and wholesome experience - I like the presentation of the characters and the flash backs to their petty lives which all converge on the forgotten island. Praise to the cast and the pictures are truly beautiful in a very Lynchian style :-)I'm looking forward to buying the second season
Buy this if you missed it on TV... February 12, 2006 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
If you missed LOST on TV and are thinking of buying this DVD - I would highly recommend it. LOST has an amazing ability to not only keep you entertained, but have this way of revealing something right towards the end of each episode that just simply makes you want to watch the next one! I know this makes the advertisers happy (certainly in the US where this show originates) but for me, it really works as a format. The more you watch it, and the more each character develops, the more you get hooked. I have read somewhere that the writers have enough for 8 seasons, so if you've not seen LOST yet, buy this, and come along for the ride! Oh, and Michelle Scott - which bit of "Bonus Features" did you not understand?
Lost Season 1 part 1 Disc 4 February 4, 2006 7 out of 18 found this review helpful
Really disappointed with this as it didn't have any episodes on the disc - only info on the making of the series - which was not explained on the write up of the disc - so if you are not interested in the uncut bits then don't order this one!
