Amazon.co.uk Review The bestselling PC game of all time is finally making its console debut: The Sims allows console gamers to create and control their own little computer people with new level-based gameplay and swankier 3-D graphics. Many would have assumed that The Sims could never work on a console, but one look at this version will easily prove them wrong. In fact, with the temptation to fall back on a mountain of confusing mouse-operated icons and online patches removed, this could well be the definitive version. For starters, the graphics now look much better than before, being in full 3-D instead of just isometric 2-D. This not only looks better but also allows you to zoom in and out on the action and feels a lot less sterile than the original. Things are still as customisable as ever too, especially via the Create-A-Sim option. Perhaps the biggest change to how the game plays on a console is in the new level-based missions. The PC original had no real goal; you just designed a family and let them get on with it, interfering with their virtual life as much or as little as you wanted. The console version adds some goals and rewards to the gameplay, which should help to attract the more attention-deficient console owners. There's even a rather odd two-player mode, which, even if it seems a little pointless, is yet more proof that EA are really trying to make this a proper worthwhile console experience and not just the cheap cash-in many would've expected. --David Jenkins

When i bought the sims i thought it would be a better upgraded version from the pc version. the graphics are great and it runs smoothly. but there isn't much to do. you build a house, furnish it, get a job if you want, make some friends... then what? I am a big fan of the sims, but its not that much different from the original. so if youre thinking of buying this and you also so have the pc version, don't bother. It would be better if it had extras like, superstar or house party, but upgraded. But it is good in the sense of graphics.

Hi i think sims is a great game and recomend that you buy it, it is full of fun!!! You can design your own house create your own sim(s) and even enter cheat codes (which are: pull the right and left trigger to bring up the cheat screen and type in FREEALL this makes everything you buy free! also type in SIMS and well im not sure what that does but i think it gives you the view from the original computer game and also there is MIDAS which unlocks everything!
SIMS = GREAT FUN!! August 8, 2004 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
this is one of the most addictive games there is on Xbox. to be honest i didnt like it at first, the thought of just controling peoples lives aand telling them to use the toilet would be time wasting, but in these last few months i have really got into it, i guess i like the challenge. i say dont buy this game if you get bored easily. If you like a bit of a challenge then BUY IT, its great!!!

How boring? Who wants to waste thier time telling a computer character when to get up, wash or go to the toilet? Buy a fun game which involves a story to detach you from the futility of life. This will just makes you depressed.
The Sims on Xbox!!! April 10, 2003 16 out of 25 found this review helpful
Finally after a PS2 release The Sims are on Xbox! The Sims has excellent graphics (because of Xbox). The all new Get A Life mode is great. You get to be yourself and have to do all sorts of things such as getting a job. Also there are multiplayer modes which allows players to go head to head. If you're not already a Sims fan this game I recommend to you. Its too good not to buy.
